Bill; thanks for responding to the Overdrive Shifting post.
I did mention the make and model earlier in the week but for
the record again, --> 1990 3.9L 4x4 Automatic.

Please Dakota Guys... I need help with this one!
More info-
when I drive at highway speeds (not Montana Speeds ;-)!) the tranny
was shiftin in and out of Overdrive real erattic. I turned the overdrive off
and the engine was still doing funny things. Sort of like a ?power slippage?
So maybe the Overdrive shifting is a symptom of a different Tranny prob.
Also last night, I heard some sort of a faint Metal on Metal sound
a Pseudo-grinding. almost like there isn't any Tranny fluid, but i know this
isn't the case. This can't be good. Couln't tell for sure, but it sounded like
it was coming from the tranny itself. Something else I noticed, last night
(this is new, because this actually didn't occur before) - was when I came to
a stop, the tranny seemed like it still wanted to go! like it was
still engaged or something. when I put the transmission in neutral,
The strain on the Engine went away entirely. Then when I put it back into drive
it clunked back into gear and the strain on the engine was back. (almost to the point of stalling 'cause I was still on the brake!)
More Questions:
1) Could the front wheel transfer case be causing problems even when I'm not
in 4 wheel drive?

Unless any one can help with info, and since I am 'transmissionly challenged'
Looks like its back to the Dealer (@#$$@#**!!!).
