Re: Irregular tire wear

It could be high speeds for extended periods, although I've cruised at 75
mph for several hours at a time and haven't noticed any unusual wear
patterns on the tires.

In the early 60's I used to race a kart and the tire wear patterns were
really weird. The slicks had an "S" shape across the tire sort of like a
~ in shape with the inner edge feathered up and the outer edge scrubbed
off. The poorer of us used treaded tires, and the little tread blocks
each had the same wear patterns across them as the slick and a similar
wear pattern from front to rear of the tread blocks. The treaded tires
were designed for maybe 10 mph max and 0.005 G cornering loads instead of
however fast we went and sideways around corners.

Larry Elliott (4x4's don't slide and drift like karts do, damn!)
