Thanks for the replies. I did change the front shocks about a month ago
with Bilstiens but I can't tell if it will make a difference. It's hard to
notice the difference on the street until you hit a large dip or go over a
Yugo. I'm also afraid that once the tires develop this wear pattern it
doesn't matter what I do. It's a shame because there is lot's of tread left
in the high areas but it's getting very close to the wear bars in the lows.

BTW, Bilstien does offer OEM replacement shocks for the Dakota now. They
cost $49.95 and come with a lifetime warranty. I haven't replaced the rears
yet, I was considering putting on the adjustable Rancho's so that I could
leave them soft for commuting on the freeway and increase the dampening when
I'm offroading or carrying a heavy load in the back. Does that make any
sense? Is it worh $75 per shock? Dave
