My reasons for the purchase of the headers was for the simple matter of
having them smog approved. Mass is one of those states who can do a
visual inspection. I know that the stock manifolds flow well and that
wasn't my beef, it was the "Y" pipe and in Mass changing it wouldn't pass
the visual (so 20 feet of shiny bent pipe will..shessh go figure). I just
wanted to change the "Y" pipe but no one would do it for me in this state.
I bought the headers.

Jim, one thing you must know about the headers is that your lowest point
will be the collector flange right after the o2 sensor just before the
cat. The pipe drops 2 inches lower at that point than stock. I don't
know how much space you need not to highside, but it is important to look.
For the sake of clearance, keep the stock manifolds, tell your muffler
gal/guy that you'd like to replace a down pipe on your "Y" pipe that you
dented on a trip to the mountains. Maybe she/he'd believe you
They didn't believe me.

Why indeed!

Push that envelope!
