'92 Magnum V6 4X4 EFI Stalling When Warm

Hi there Dakota people! This is my first post to the list.

I have a '92 Magnum 6 4X4 EFI Club Cab w. about 95,000 km
(70,000 miles) on it. I absolutely love the truck, and so
did my Dad, as it was his until last summer, and now he has
a '96 V8 4X4 Club, his third Dakota!

Up until now, it has been running flawlessly, as it had regular maintenance
at the local dealership, etc. Recently, (I assume because it is colder)
I have had some problems with it stalling after being warmed up. I can
get it started first time at any temperature, when the engine is cold,
but after it has warmed up, it takes three or four tries, and I have to
watch the tach. closely, and pump the gas when it falls past the 600 RPM
mark to get it to keep running. It Idles cold at 1100 and warm at about 800.
Sometimes, it smells like it is flooding when I try to start it warm which
would make sense, if I am pumping the gas, I guess.

I have noted that the temperature gauge seems to never get past the C mark,
even on highway drives of an hour or so. After checking out a few sites
on the WWW, I found the codes for checking out the computer. I get
a 12 and a 17. Apparently, the 17 indicates that the engine doesn't
ever get warm, or something similar.

Does anyone know what the problem may be? I expect it is a temperature
sensor, or perhaps the thermostat, but I don't know which to look at,
or whether it would fix the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

        Stephen
