Dakota Tires

I'm really amazed at the wide tires some of you guys are putting on the
stock 6" rims. Aren't they really wiggley side to side and very
pinched? Kuk: the sticker on the door frame says my predator wheels
are 6", not 6.5".

Using a wider rim for the same tire will cause the tire to be shifted
outwards compared to the stock rims. Has anybody tried 245/60-15 tires
with 8" rims? All the roads around here are very winding and handling
counts. Also will 235/15 tires with chains clear on a 2WD?

& I just put some new skins on the green monster. Dunlop GT
& Qualifiers 255/60/15s on the back and 245/60/15s on the front. WOW! What
& a difference!!! These tires are GREAT! I've had various brands on
& Mustwang 5.slows to include T/As, Firehawks, Bridgestone HP41s etc. but
& none have had the adhesion of these. These things have great bite for a
& street tire. They stick better than my Mickey Thompson Sportsmans (I
& tread pattern not Sportsman Pros). I tried a friends T/As last year and
& I swear they were more slippery than the Invictas. We had quite a bit of
& rain lately here in the Dallas area and these Dunlops seem to do well in
& the wet stuff too. BTW, my truck is lowered 2"in front(spindles and 4"
& in rear(hangers) and these tires do NOT rub! I am also using stock
& predator wheels(very sneaky :-)). I bought them from Discount Tire
& Direct (mail order) for $230! The guy who recommended them had a
& modified V8 Dak like mine and he told me the Dunlops were the best tires
& out of all the ones he tried. The local dealer mounted them free,
& charging me only $27 for the balancing and tax. Give these things a try,
& you won't be disappointed.
& excessively, not good for looks...

& Just to let the Leadfoot's know, the BFG Drag Radials are out. 235/60/15's
& are $150 each, 255/60/15 which WILL fit on the stock 6.5 rim's, although I
& don't recommend it, and various 16" diameter sizes too...you can get them
& thru your local Stupidshops(Supershops). Now, if you can only get your wieght
& to transfer to the rear :( These tires are true radials,so no back end sway
& or shimmy like the bias ply cheaters out there. As for the Radial T/A's, they
& are hard as a rock, with 10 minutes just to get them to smoke...
