   The letters on the 96 tailgate were adhesive stick on letters. If you
remove them carefully the surface under neath is smooth and remains
painted.
   Objects like the SLE lable and the V8 lables are also held on by
adhesive, as is the body moldings, with the exception of the fender
modlings if you have them. I am pretty certian that the fender
gurards/moldings are held on with at least some hardware(screws) in
side the fender well. I have a 4x4 and I wanted the fender flares to
remain on anyway and I did not look that closely at how they are
attached... I choose to remove all other objects, and I am left with
smooth paint and body lines, yet have all the SLE interior trim, 4x4
drive train, and V8 motor, you just don't see any lables advertising
those facts on my truck.
