Andy,
Sounds like a nice truck. I too considered the rear valance panel but
when I ordered my '97 the panel had just become available and would
have delayed the order so I passed. Is there a "rebate" for deleting
your rear bumper? On a Chevy S10 when you order this option your
price *drops* $200! No charge for the panel. If you're not getting a
discount for taking the panel instead of the bumper I would pass. Sir
Michael's has a bolt on *steel* roll pan for about $95. If your going
to have to pay for something I would take the bumper even if you
immediatly pull it off and store it away.

I just have one question though:
has anyone seen or purchased a 97 with the rear valance panel? I have never
seen a truck with the option, but I chose to go with it anyway (only $57)
since I hope it will add an extra sportiness to the truck. Let me know what
you think of my decisions since I still have about a week to change my mind.
Thanks,
