I had this problem with my '87. When you remove the vent cowl panel, where
the ai enters for ventalation, there a black plastic pad/grid about 6" x
48". The right sideof this piece stops the rain water from entering into the
ventelation system. If this is not sealed properly rain will run down the
windshield, over this pad ,and eventualy under it. Water drips into the
heater box and leaks where it joins the firewall on the inside of the cab,
then tricles down the firewall to the right floor pan, voila you have a
Dakota pond!
