> Wasn't the very first car ever made a Ford? (As in Henry Ford?)
Nope. it was a Daimler (Gottlieb Daimler 1834-1900) of what became Daimler-Benz.
Ford wasn't the first American car manufacturer, either. There were
Curve-Dash (?) Oldsmobiles, Stanley Steamers, even Edison electric cars,
well before Ford got going.
Ford did the mass-produced thing, and did it in a big way.
