FYI:
This week's Autoweek (date April 21 w/Miata on cover) has an "Autofile"
on the '97 Dakota: (Kind of a compilation of drivers and magazine reviewers
comments along with stats).
Overall, a pretty favorable report(they rate cost of ownership vs value
over time as "excellent") but a few owners seem to have some quality
gripes. Also, the gas mileage seems to be hit on as a negative. High
praise from various sources is the ride and quietness.
Their particular test vehicle is a 2WD CC V8 Auto(3.55) and they claim
0-60 in 8.63 with 1/4 mile 82.4 mph@ 16.67. (weight 3931). One of the
trucks it's compared against is the Toyota Tacoma SR-5 with a quote of
0-60 in 7.7sec (no more details, but a CC is pictured.. anyone know what
the engine and weight is?). A Sonoma is 9.11 sec and F-150 is 9.29
(Somoa pic is standard cab and F-150 has CC pictured -once again no
other details).
Check it out for details.
