The other downside to using a cowl sucker intake is the gawdawful howl
you'd get when you stuck your foot in it and the rest of the racket you'd
have all the rest of the time. I don't mind some good healthy engine
sounds but can't imagine what it'd be like after a few hours on the road.
NASCAR "stock" cars all use this sort of intake now. I don't know how
it'd work when a two or three inches of snow were over the cowl vent
either : ).
