        Well, there's two ways to look at it. If you have the Dodge
dealership do it, and get a Dodge SG differential installed (OEM), then
it would be the same as if the original diff. failed, was replaced, then
would
be under warranty for the remainder of the 7/70... The above scenario
might
be expensive done at the dealership though...

        Another situation, is to have the SG installed by a reputable differential
shop (we have a place called Pro Gear here in San Diego, CA. that I have
had
good luck with on my previous Dakota)...and get a good warranty from them.

        If you got a Dodge SG, and had them install it, no one from Dodge
would be the wiser that it was done... So your warranty should be fine.
If you
did void your warranty, it would only void the differential, and not the
entire
7/70... What do you think the service rep. does when I pull my Dakota into
the shop with an open element K&N, Doug Thorley Headers, and a 3" CAT
back exhaust system, to get a warranty repair on my ALT??? Nothing...
