        I too had a '91 V8-pre magnum Dakota... I ran it without the muffler for
1/2 day, and it wasn't
loud, but lost a lot of power (not to mention I only had about 135-40hp to
the rear wheels)...I went with
a Flowmaster, and the performance improved, the sound deepened...
Unfortunately the flowmaster
rusted out in 2 years... I hear now that they have improved the durability
of their mufflers though...

I went with a stainless steel...and 1.5 years later it looks the same as
when I bought it...
It has NO packing, and is virtually a straight through pipe, but does work
with the
exhaust 'pulses' to make things happen...

        My $.02 worth..
