Frank, your truck probably won't pull 5th gear @ 105, it would
probably drop off.. (I.E. Viper pulls 180+ in 5th gear, but only 145 or so
in
6th!)... My '95 with 3.90 gearing (why does everyone put 3.92 down? The
option was for a 3.90...Hmmm) did 105 in 4th, then went to 5th and it
barely climbed to 110 (3 mile run in 5th)... That was stock... With the
stuff I've done, when I dropped into 5th at 100 it PULLED...I didn't take
it anyhigher, but it did pull MUCH harder than stock... The truck nearly
stops on it's own when you take your foot off the gas though! :P

I agree that high-speed driving isn't real smart on the street, and
must add that the Dakota is a HANDFUL at high speed (especially if
there's any wind)... As long as conditions are right (I.E. no one around
late at night)....

        Anyway, my 2 cents worth..
