Just got back from the drags and had a great time as usual. As I had reported
last trip I had lost a 1/2 second from last year and that I had only added
MSD 6A and changed gas from Mobil 93 to Sunoco 94. I changed back to Mobil
93, nothing else and ran 15.2 vs 15.5 with sunoco. The weather was a little
cooler and I'm not sure what effect that may have had but it does seem to
run better on the Mobil. I also made 2 runs with out cutting power to the
computer to allow it to reprogram and ran 15.2's then cut the power to let it
re learn and the first 2 runs were 15.3's then came back to the 15.2's all at
91 or 92 mph.
My son ran his Neon again and since the last time he ran he added a K&N
replacement filter, nothing else and last time ran 16.13 - 16.18 @ 86 MPH,
this time he ran 15.7's & 15.8's @88 MPH, it seems to run real well. The ACR
guys brought a Factory furnished Volkswagen GTI VR6 173 HP V6 which had a
best run of the low 16's needless to say my son is thrilled with his Neon.
Neither of us did well in the Bracket Race, I broke out by .003 and he hit
5th instead of 3rd on his run.
