worried about mileage. It's the torque/hp I'm more interested in, hence
the V8. I also haven't modified my truck any, either on the intake or
exhaust side, so that may account for variances in mileage between mine and
some of the other trucks on the DML. BTW, thanks for all the input guys,
this list is a great (if somewhat biased) resource.

Pat:
Around town, 14.5 miles/Imp.gal. is about the same for me...back and forth
to work, less than three miles. Once I hit the highway, the miles per
gallon go up dramatically. I just havn't taken a long trip where I've run
a tank or two exclusively on the highway. I've just watched the miles goes
by and the fuel guage doesn't move much. I fully expect to get 20 mpg. But
then, I'm driving at 50 - 55 mph, and it's just idling along about 1700 rpm.
As a sideline, I've got a 39 Buick inline 8, 4 door sitting in my driveway
right now. It belongs to a friend of mine, and I'm going to be driving it
in a parade on the weekend. It's been sitting for over a year and a few
(many?) things don't work. Brakes ok, starts and runs, 3 spd. is a b***h
to shift, brake lights work. It hasn't been restored ... what a tank!
Cheers.
