Hey guys,
I just thought I would warn all you '97 club cab owners about the Mopar
Vehicle cover. I first ordered the vehicle cover when I bought my truck
back in March. I got the cover about a week later and found out that the
cover did not fit the club cab. The length was fine, but it didn't fit the
cab right. We determined that it was really a cover for a regular cab long
bed. We tested our theory and confirmed that it fit a reg. cab, long bed
perfectly. So we assumed that it had just been stamped wrong when it was
manufactured. So, we reordered the cover. I just got the second one in
today. Guess what. It doesn't fit either. They were both the same
situation--the cover had the right part number on it, but they just weren't
the right parts. The dealer is currently looking in the situation for me.
I'll keep you guys posted on the outcome. If you are considering the
purchase of a full vehicle cover, I would suggest you look at an aftermarket
company instead of buying from Mopar.
On a side note, I also got my front end cover in today. It fits *very*
well. Nice and snug and doesn't flap around or anything. I would recommend
it to anyone that does a great deal of highway driving, driving in areas
with lots of bugs, or driving in areas where rocks and debris get thrown up.
