Well, I've had mine for a year and a half, and I *still* haven't
waxed it. :P Heck, I haven't even given it a real washing! (Just
took it to one of those do it yourself car wash places once in a while.
(I just use the spray, never the brush.))

I notice that Andy has a Black Dak. So do I. Does anyone have any
suggestions as to how to wash the black so that it doesn't develop
swirls/scratches? My 3000GT was black, and it was swirl city. I got
some of that wax that has the dye in it, but that didn't work very
well at all. (And I got it all over myself.) :P

Anyway, I'd like to avoid getting the swirls in there in the first
place, as opposed to trying to fix them. Is this even possible? Just
something us black owners have to live with?

My guess would be that the secret is to use sponges, towels, etc. that
are as soft as possible?

I've got a chamois for drying. I'm still trying to figure out what
to use to apply the wax. Nothing I find seems soft enough to me.
