Hi Guys,
I just wanted to send a special thank-you to Brian Cleary for coming out to
the house and checking my brakes.
Brian reassures me that with the mileage I've used (22,000 kilometers) in
two years and the fact that the pads are only halfway worn down, I should be
fine until at least the fall. He also pointed out to me that my driver side
rotor has a hump instead of being scored. Apparently this is caused by a
piece of the brake pad that may have broken off. The most I would need is
to have both rotors turned and pads replaced in the fall. And to think that
Chrysler stated that the passenger side rotor was scored and the pad
extremely low.
Here's what they quoted for work to be done.
Front Brake pads and rotors = $396.00
Repack front wheel bearings = $ 75.00
Service rear brakes = $ 95.00
Total = $566.00
And of course, let's not forget the labor.
Anyway, I guess they thought I was an easy mark. Little do they know how
many friends we all have on the Dakota list.
Thanks again, Brian. It was extremely nice of you. We should definitely
get together again when Jason's moved up and settled in.
