I've got a '96 V8 5-speed 4x4 3.21 SureGrip Club Cab also...

I don't have clutch chatter between shifts, but I do notice slight clutch
chatter when starting off in first gear...

is

I have a similar noise, and the dealer says it's normal "driveline slack"
or some such term... I don't know how loud
yours is but mine is relatively minor.. I figured it had to do with more
moving parts (x-fer case, prop shaft, etc.)

I don't have this...

Jon, you've got a '96 Club Cab V-8 5-speed (no 4x4) does your truck
exhibit any of these sounds??

Ciao!
