Sounds like the fan clutch. Does it also do it first thing in the morning
for about a half mile to mile (depending on engine temperature)? That's
the only time mine makes the roar, when it's first run after sitting
awhile, even a short while if it's cold outside. It never does it while
running, and I've had it cranked up going down the road with the AC on in
the summer.
