My Dakota has backfired, usually once right after it's been started and
driven off after standing for 6-8 hrs minimum. I never let the truck just
sit and warm up, fire it up, run 30 seconds (unless there's snow or ice to
scrape) and drive off. That's the only time it backfires and then only
when I'm being gentle with the throttle. It acts like it wants to stumble
and hiccup, but when the throttle is depressed a little more it burps,
gives a little backfire and proceeds. It's not a big boom or anything,
and I doubt that it's hurting anything.
This has only happened since I put on the K&N clone too.
