I've only got truly stuck with the 4x4 once in sand, and it wasn't the
sand's fault, but the 3-ft diameter rock that was buried in it. This was
at the bottom of Red Canyon in the Orocopia Mtns (East of Salton Sea) and
between two impassable blocks in the canyon (one a cliff, the other end
squeezes down to 2-ft wide). A lonely place. I jacked the front end off,
and suffered no mechanical damage (thanks to sturdy skid plates).

Oh, and I'd put the climb out up against almost any other, but the place
is closed thanks to Sen. Feinstein's Desert Park. Sigh.
