Well, the only way to describe it is this: Lots of wind noise (louder
than
my stereo at 1/2 volume; the thought of 'Now what? I've never driven it
this fast";
and the small voice in the back of my head saying "Speed rating on tires
are just
guidelines, there's got to be a fudge factor in there... but, what type of
rating
do BFG-AT tires have ?? ...Probably should slow down"
I know that AT tires are rated to no more than 85 mph... That's why I
run S rated tires now (115 mph)... Not that I drive that fast, but because
I drive
at least 70-75 all the time here in San Diego (you have to!).
The handling was ok, just very touchy steering... It did take me about
3-4 miles to get to that speed, and I was at 4500 for about 10 seconds...
Just
the fact that I was going WAY too fast to be safe (no other cars on the
road, 4
lane highway, so I would have been the only Fatality :O), and the fear of
the
unknown... I chickened out.
Anyway, the truck is very stable at 100 mph (been there a lot :P), but
don't really need to push my luck... I've mellowed out....only get to 100
once
a month on average....Not daily like some people I know.
