Here in San Diego we have three grades: 87 unleaded, 89 mid grade, and
92 premium. With a stock 5.2L engine and stock computer you can run 87
octane.
Check your owner manual to make sure for your model year ('98). With the
MP computer,
it's 92 octane and up only... 91 is OK, but don't expect to drive fast as
the pinging will
start up again (at least on my truck).
