Ron, I've got a '96 4x4 CC 5-sp and I, have a similar clank, and it seems
to happen at similar times to what you've listed. I've had my dealer
look at it too, and have been informed that it is normal "driveline
backlash". I hear that the 4x4 5-sp is the most notorious for this, so
the 2WD auto would be the least susceptible to it. I've chalked it up as
something that has to be lived with, it may be different with your truck,
but IMHO, I'd rather deal with it, than fight with the dealer on a
regular basis... I usually wait until it's something I "know" I can make
them squirm with.

Wind noise is a TSB (new upper door gaskets)... squeaking dash is also a
TSB (is yours actually the dash or the passenger A-pillar??) If it's the
A-pillar, it is a TSB which involves pulling the windshield, and using a
different (softer) gasket for the windshield. This is another one I'm
just chalking up to "living with it" pile. The cold start problem I
haven't had, so I can't offer any advice on that one. The TSBs can be
