RE: Changing color of decals on a 98

I personally asked how to remove the decals at the dealership - they
told me to use my fingernails! This worked pretty well, but then there
was adhesive stuck to the paint after the decals were removed. Some of
it I was able to "roll" (rub, rub, rub, the same direction) off with my
fingers. What was left, I had to experiment with. I tried wd40, tar and
bug remover, motor oil, alcohol, and a few other things - none of which
I can say worked great. After getting the lion's share of the junk off,
I went over the decal areas a few times with POLISHING, (NOT buffing)
compound, and everything came out beautifully. I kept the V8 Magnum
emblems, of course, but I really like the look of my otherwise "naked"
truck.
