That may be more of an installer problem. My bedliner was put in at the
dealer. They used some big mean looking screws to hold it and the tailgate
cover in the truck.

Just going by the instructions in the kit (factory Dodge underrail bedliner). I think your dealer realized
it was rediculous too. (I added my own screws too). The tape may secure it from the wind,
but with nothing holding it down near the edges my snowmobile skis would soon catch the edge
and tear it up bigtime.
