Yep, that would be a clone. The breather hose should still connect to
your new airbox though. Also, you don't have to use a Summit filter,
most people use an off brand air cleaner with a K&N filter. (So, you've
still got a K&N, just the housing is different.

I don't have any hard and fast figures about performance, but throttle
response seems better, and its obvious that the engine loves all that extra
air. It sounds great!!
The FIPK does come with an S-bolt and a CARB EO number, as someone else
mentioned. However, if the CARB number isn't important to you, you don't
really need the S-bolt; I just went to the hardware store and spent a few
cents on a longer carridge bolt. (Which is what the stock air cleaner uses
to hold it in.)

I don't have the K&N, so I'm not really qualified to answer, but I went
through the same process you're going through now, and it sure wasn't worth
it to me. I did my setup for under $70, and it was actually pretty
satisfying to "manufacture" my own. I saved 30-40 dollars and got a sense
of accomplishment out of the deal. (Ok, sap mode off.) ;-)

There's a pictures section which might have some clones in it, I'm not
sure. (I've been meaning to put a picture of mine up there but I haven't
gotten around to it.) From the DML page, there is also a "related pages"
