Mike, I seemed to notice the same thing when I put Mobil1 synthetic in
mine a few weeks ago. Actually, it fluctuates alot from highway to
idling now that I think about it...
And, no. Short of putting the oil filter INSIDE oil pan, they couldn't
have found a much more awkward location... : )
