O2 sensor

Hi all, been hiding as a lurker on the digest for a few weeks, but now have
a question. Had the transmission replaced and after I picked up the truck
it runs,,well,,not well. If it idles it hunts up and down,,usually
progressivly lower and lower until it dies. Occasionally if you try to
hold a steady rpm level, it will then surge up and down several hundred
rpm. The wonderful check engine light comes on occasionally after you are
driving and when I pulled the codes it returned a 21 which according to the
Chiltons guide is the O2 sensor circuit. On the off chance that they had
either forgotten to rehook it or it somehow coincidentally came
loose/became defective I purchased the sensor. Here is where the problem
arrives.,,,cant find the darn thing! Perhaps my eyesight is going but I
just don't even see it! If anyone could help me with this problem or have
another suggestion I would be grateful! BTW,,truck is a 94 CC, 4x4, 318.
