I have a '97 sport that I removed the lettering from. I used a hair
dryer to get them off. This is the same way I remove the decals from
the jet-skis that we race. When you find the right temperature the
adhesive comes off with the sticker and won't leave any residue. I
WOULD NOT trust anything that involves using a buffing wheel! Good Luck!
