  Not to mention losing use of my truck for at least half a day, minimum
(usually more); leaving it in the hands of techs who don't really care about
my truck the way I do. No offense to you Keredt, since you seem to actually
care about your job and share interest in automotive technology, but the
local Sears techs have yet to impress me with their wealth of automotive
knowledge and professionalism.

  I've said it before and I'll say it again: nine times out of ten you'll
do a much better job working on your own vehicles than trusting mechanics
for hire. I don't think I've communicated this very well, but my motivation
is NOT to save money. My motivation is to learn more about an area of
vehicle maintenance and tweaking that heretofore I've known little about.
