If you are seriously considering buying a replacement filter to drop in the
factory air box, I say why not just do the "Fresh Air by Meldrum" mod?
This will only cost about $15 more, and it will give you better
performance & better looks. If your concern is passing visual inspection,
you can leave 90% of the factory intake routing in place, so changing
back to factory at inspection time will be very simple. Check out Sean
Meldrum's homepage for detailed, illustrated instructions. It's really very
