The '97 and newer DAK's do have a control module(computer), but it's
different than the '96 and older in that you have to go to the dealer or
know somebody that has a computer scan tool that will REPROGRAM the OSD-II
unit. It is not a change-out type. However I believe there is what they call
a JET module that plugs in between the wiring harness and the OSD-II unit
that overrides (tricks) the factory unit into thinking it's been
reprogrammed. There maybe somebody else who would know more about this- I
have the replaceable type in my '95.
