I have noticed a bit of engine knock in my '98 V8 Kota... It only
seems to happen at low speed under medium to heavy acceleration. At
highway speeds no matter how hard I punch it I can't detect any knock
at all. The truck only has about 1K miles on it so far. I also drive
a '96 V6 Ford Explorer (sorry guys, I needed something to haul people
around in) that burns the same brand/octane gas and it does not knock
at all under any conditions... Both vehicles are unmodified with OEM
engine components.
Is this break-in related or something I need to worry about? It's not
very loud, just annoying and unexpected in a new "high tech" vehicle.
