Well how much hp gain to the wheels can you get with a supercharger ? I really
don't know. I do know you waste some of the hp you gain with boost to turn the
sc. For example I was told on the Tbird super coupe (probably similar on sc 3800
GM also) the sc made 150 hp but only 75 made it to the wheels. I am told a
nitrous kit for the Dodge 5.2 V8 will put 150 extra hp to the wheels! Nothing
wasted! All I know is my son races a 95 formula pontiac with intake and exhaust
mods and nitrous but no supercharger. He turns high 11s on a daily driver and
has never been beaten by any similar veichle using a blower or turbo insted of
nitrous. He has been using the nitrous for 2 years and has about 80k miles on his
car with NO engine problems at all. (cant say as much for rear ends though.) By
the way he has had his car on a dyno and showed he gets 435 hp to the rear
wheels!
And the real reason I'm putting nitrous on my dak when I get it is cost. Where
can you buy 150 hp to the wheels for $500.00?
