On my 97 there is no requirement to arm the alarm with the alarm remote.You
just
lock the door locks with the electric door lock switch and get out.The alarm
arms itself automatically.If you look at the dash the security light flashes
for 15 seconds and then goes out.No need for the anoying chirp from the
horn.Maybe the 98 is the same.
