I saw an article about the Daimler-Benz Chrysler merger which
had some info about the world's largest car companies; similar to
what we were talking about a little while ago on the list. (This info
is from Time magazine.)
Chrysler was actually much bigger than Dailmer-Benz, as far as
vehicle sales go. Chrysler was #6, and DB was #15. Together, they are
now #5. Here is the current breakdown (and percentage of the global
sales of cars and trucks) after the merger:
#1: 16.2% GM/Opel/Saab
#2: 12.9% Ford/Mazda/Jaguar
#3: 9.0% Toyota
#4: 7.9% VW/Audi/Rolls-Royce
#5: 7.4% DaimlerChrysler
Just FYI...
