I have the same suspension that I purchased from Sport truck direct that
you are considering. My truck (the 17" wheels and 40 series tires helps)
handles substantially better than before....nothing like taking on-ramps at 80
miles an hour without a hint of tire squeal!! The front shackles are
adjustable which I think personally is a huge plus. I've had the suspension
installed since December of 96 and have yet to have a problem, let alone a bit
of rust on it (make sure you paint it before you install it. I also have
Eibach 1" drop springs in the front. It has an increased spring rate to
compensate for the reduced travel, and I really have to hit a bump to get it
to bottom on the wheelwell.
As for the shocks, they are pretty good, but I'm looking into purchasing
those edelbrock IAS shocks, all I've heard are good things so I decided I'm
going to try them out. Those cost about 70-80 bucks each however, and I don't
know if you want to spend the extra money.
If you go ahead with it do yourself a favor and rent/buy a grinder to
get those rivet heads off or you'll be drilling for the better part of the
day. And don't forget to get an alignment when you're finished.

Does anyone know who sells Western Chassis suspension components
besides Sport Truck Direct? They have a kit for '97+ Daks using (2")
lowered control arms and adjustable (4", 4.5", 5") shackles/hangers for
~$330, and I want to find out if this is a good price. Does anyone have
any feelings on Doetsch Tech shocks? These are 4 for ~$140.

Steve
