I have found this to be very interesting conversation, and like I said after
the comp goes on I will try to run with and without the MSD. I just cant
believe that multiple sparks are worse than one spark. Before anyone jumps me
cause they think I don't believe them, read on. The dak has a much smoother
idle than stock and eveyone knows that Dodge runs all their products in a Bill
Gates fuel rich state. So I figured that this multiple spark would burn more
fuel in the cyl...hence more power. One thing I noticed on my truck is after
putting about 1000 miles on it from new, the tailpipes were getting black.
after about 5000 miles you could stick your finger in the pipe and it would
come out black. I took it to the dealership and asked them about this. They
checked it out, and basiclly told me that it is normal for all CC engines to
run rich.
I put the cat back duals on right after the MSD and 5000 later they are pretty
clean. So I assume that I am burning most of the fuel. But as I said, I am
going to try running with the MSD, and stock after the comp.
BTW when you installed the switch did you use a SPDT and just double up the
coil connections?
