answers to JBA questions

Here they are :

1) Are they or aren't they stainless steel ?

per Jeff Bell at JBA , the headers ARE 100% stainless steel .

2)What's the deal on the warranty .

unfortunately , Jeff says that the warranty is as it stands on the web site
, which means that they are pro-rated after 2 years . He does say that
since the two-years he has been there , he has never seen a set of the
stainless headers come back .

3)Ceramic coating ?

YES ! JBA can have the headers ceramic coated with a coating that will
handle temps of up to 1400 degrees . The coating is a polished silver and
normally , the coating adds an additional $180 , for any of us that want
the coating when we order our headers , he will have them coated for only
$100 extra . Seems like a good deal . The coating is inside and out .

Jeff says that although the headers ARE stainless steel , they are not
polished unless you get the coating , so along with the reduced heat
benefit , I think I will order mine with coating .

I asked him about the possibility of the down pipes for both the regular
Daks and the R/T and he says that they ARE looking into it . He says that
what they do is look at how much HP it would ad for what they would have to
charge for them . So basically , if they only get an additional 5
horsepower out of them and they have to charge like $150-200 bucks for em ,
then they probably wouldn't do it .

I asked if they did do a downpipe , when it might be available .

Jeff told me that IF they did the custom Y-pipe , that the prototype would
most likely be ready by November so that they could have it for the SEMA
show , whenever that is . I would guess that if they have the prototype by
then , that they would be available by spring , IF in fact they decide to
make one .

Jeff reminds me that every set of headers that they make is totally
pressure tested after being made , more than once .

He is VERY interested in doing the deal with us !

I told him that we would get together on Monday , and probably all call him
on Tuesday .

He asked me to , anb I will ,give him a call to let him know when we all
plan on calling him so that he can be ready to take the orders .

I told him that we are probably gonna have maybe 20 or even a bit above ,
so he said we should plan on a couple of days so that he can work the
orders into the current production run they are making .

And damnit , he told me what the turn-around was if you wanted the coating
, but hell , i forgot to write that down , I know it was a few days though
, but not long .

Anyway , I hope this lays to rest any of the fears of the deal , and if
anyone has any more questions , just let me know and I will inquire .

Jeff seems more than willing to explain things and answer any questions we
might have .

PEACE
