It is fairly safe to run a hot plug such as a platinum tip or a split
fire with a aluminum head BUT a cast iron block. If you had a aluminum
block and heads you would see the diff in the temp gauge and would run
into problems.

Also, with them making your engine run hotter, would that show up on the
Temp Gauge?
My truck doesn't seem to be running hot.
