I kept your posts on the JBA install and greeatly appreciate
the input.
My headers came last Thursday. Unfortunately, that's all I
got, so I
haven't installed them yet. I was thinking about Stage 8
fasteners,
anyhow, but I do need the rest of the stuff that comes with
them. Maybe
even that donut thing they talk about, whatever that is.

I've got three questions (for now) for you, if you don't
mind.

1. How did you get the Y pipe nut off that's next to the
engine? Sure not
much room in there. Did you come over the top or from
underneath?

Long extension - comes off easy as pie.

2. Can one person do this job? I read Michael Clark's Doug
Thorley header
install and he said it was a bitch, but he did it all by
himself over a
weekend. The DT is more involved due to the Y-pipe
replacement.

Easier with two people - one to hold and move the header while the
other tightens.

3. What did you use to seal the 02 sensor? The instructions
say silicone.
Is general silicone sealant OK or is there a better type to
use for this?

Good question - I was also looking for input on sealers for the header
to head gasket.

We removed the Y-pipe bolts from under...our 92 had
retainers on the top bolts
that allowed the nuts to be removed from the bottom.A long
entension on a
ratchet with a 9/16 deep socket worked fine.

My son and I did our job...two people will make it easier.

The doughnut thing was not in the parts kit....the stock
y-pipe flange looks to fit the
headers fine......we are still fighting exhaust leaks ....a
couple of parts places
know nothing of any doughnut gaskets.....if they are so easy

to get...put them in the kit.....one of my gripes.....

We are using the stock y-pipe...so we did not have to
confront the O2 sensor....I'll
try to see what the factory manual says.....

We want to upgrade to a better y-pipe and will fight the
leaks then....

Our low/mid range is improved...I suspect with a new y-pipe
and larger exhaust
the top end will also pick up.

We have a new hi-po mopar computer on order for the
truck....16.1 sec and dropping in the quartermile....
