My 97' Dakota 318 does the same thing.
But like you, it only happens every once in a while.
Then again I never have like the way it shifted. It shifts like every band in
the trans.
is slipping. My old 94' V-6 shifted better. dealer says nothing wrong.
I waiting for SCB to see if that helps , If not I'am going to try a MP shift
kit.
