Re: Wheels/Backspacing?

Robert,

I've been looking into a wheel/tire upgrade on my '95 CC(4x4), and as you
know, haven't found too many options. I've e-mail/talked to American Racing
a few times. Following are the options they said would work for the 6 in
4&1/2 pattern...
" They are the AR-36, AR-136, Kong, Shadow, Atlas and Atlas 360.
All of these are one piece cast wheels which are ideal for off-road use."
(these can be viewed on their web-page - americanracing.com)

I actually use my truck for 4x4 (work & hunting) so if I do the wheel
upgrade
I'll probably go with the one piece wheels. I noticed in the catalog that Am
Racing
does have other wheels in our bolt pattern for 4x2 applications.

I wanted to do the wheels with Mickey Thompson Baja HP's before this winter.
Wheels are a pretty pricey upgrade, so I may just go with the tires (very
much needed).

Keep us updated on what you find - I'd love to find some decent/reasonably
priced wheels.

Well, probably not EVERY wheel. Just those from the big guys like American
racing, Boyds, Ultra, etc. So far I've got a list of the wheels that Ultra
and American Racing make, that fit the Dakota bolt pattern. I have to
figure
out how I'm going to organize everything, so it'll take a while. Mainly,
I'm
doing this for myself, 'cause I'm going to get new wheels, and wanted an
organized way to look at what is out there, and choose.
Later,
Robert
