Yep; I think this attitude is probably shared by most 4x4 owners.
I almost got 4x4 on my Dakota, but I just couldn't bring myself to
spend the $3000 extra. I'm not interested at all in trail driving
and I'm even less interested in status symbols. I was going to
get the 4x4 to make it a lot easier to get around in the snow. I
live out in the country, and if we're lucky enough to get the road
plowed, there's still the problem of getting out of the driveway after
the plow creates a nice wall at the end.
Getting around in my 2wd can be... interesting. :-) It was bad
enough when it was stock, but now that I've got all those extra
horsies from my mods, who knows what'll happen. :-) I might have
to invest in a set of snow tires in case the sand in the bed doesn't
cut it.
