Subject: DML: Dragstrip Times for V-6 5 Spd
I recently ran my Dak at the Street Legal Drags at the Pomona
Raceway.
This was my first experience at a 'legal' dragstrip, so my reaction
times were terrible.
My Dak (V-6 Reg. cab, shortbed, 3.21 axle, AX-15 5 spd) ran a 17.03 on
the first pass.
I know I could have run in the 16's if I wouldn't have missed the 2-3
shift. The temperature was also fairly warm on the first pass ~85
degrees. My second pass was
excellent.....great launch....but I ran a half second slower. It
warmed up at least 20 degrees from my first run to the second,
probably accounting for the decrease in time.
With a little more practice, a short throw shifter, and better tires,
I should improve.
