Bob,
did you get a check engine light too?? When I called JET yesterday, their
first question was: Did the module get wet?? I think they know about this
one. I no longer think that washing the truck and this JET failure is a
coincidence. The hood on the 97/98 dak seems to collect water on its side
rails and the area of the inner fenderwells becomes very damp, just where
the computer is located. I think a good dielectric grease should
help/prevent this from happening again.

Bruce,

I was thinking about this one last night.

I washed my truck on Saturday and the roughness started right
afterwards. You washed yours and the JET went bye-bye. Connection or
coincidence?

I pulled the chip last night and it idles much better. Haven't felt the
surging either. The truck is in the shop for the lowering job at the
moment, but I plan to give JET a call today and see about a replacement.

Bob
